Designing the subsea hydrogen network infrastructure as part of the North Sea Energy program
The North Sea Energy program aims to maximize the energy potential of the North Sea to satisfy both national and European energy needs while respecting the carrying capacity of the economy, society and nature. This energy will be net zero, reliable, and affordable. The program focuses on planning for offshore wind, natural gas, offshore hydrogen, and CCS developments up to 2050.
Subsea7, as a leading contractor, brings extensive experience in the offshore energy sector, particularly in submarine pipelines, offshore wind, and subsea infrastructure design, construction, installation, and commissioning. Within the North Sea Energy program, Subsea7 plays a key role in designing the subsea hydrogen network. This involves developing and evaluating various conceptual designs for subsea infrastructure to support the phased expansion of the Dutch and European offshore hydrogen transport network. The presentation will offer an overview of Subsea7's contributions, including visualizations of the subsea infrastructure elements created using Subsea7’s engineering tool OceanPlan.
