Leadership Roundtable: Creating More Robust CO2 Storage Regulations
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is taking becoming increasingly important in the quest to reach net zero by 2050, driving investment in its commercial deployment. In order for the industry to succeed in the long-term, regulatory frameworks for storage of CO2 are essential and must consider potential technological and environmental risks. This leadership roundtable will discuss the current status of CO2 storage regulations and provide recommendations to policy makers on where existing legislation needs to be strengthened or updated and where additional legislation is needed to ensure the sustainability and permanence of CO2 storage.
