Air Pollution Control System I CCS Retrofit Project (HMM Mongla)
Panasia has conducted the onboard carbon capture and storage system (OCCS) pilot project, in collaboration with HMM, Samsung Heavy Industries, and KR. The project involved installing OCCS on HMM’s 2,100TEU container ship, MONGLA, to collect operational data. The system successfully captured 90% of the CO₂ from exhaust gases, with a capture rate of 1 ton of CO₂ per hour, and the liquefied CO₂ having a purity of over 99.9%. The stored CO₂ will be recycled as raw material for E-METHANOL. This project demonstrates the potential of a Carbon Recycling Chain, and it is expected to significantly contribute to air pollution control and the decarbonization efforts across industries and beyond.
