ISL - Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics was founded in Bremen in 1954. Combining tradition and modern science, we have since positioned ourselves as one of Europe's leading institutes for research, consulting and know-how transfer in maritime logistics.

Located in Bremen and Bremerhaven, Germany, the Institute develops practical solutions based on innovative ideas on behalf of public and private sector project partners/customers, and works in interdisciplinary teams on projects from all over the world. 

In its seven areas of competence, ISL offers, among other things, market analyses and forecasts, organises application-oriented innovative funded projects related to maritime logistics, and develops as well as integrates IT systems.
