A 20m euro investment will enable Strohm to develop sustainable pipeline solutions

Strohm recently received a large investment from SENCO Hydrogen Capital of 20m euros. This investment has been awarded to the company, in order to benefit the advancements being made by the company within hydrogen and carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS) applications.

Strohm is a Dutch company, who has become an international manufacturer of pipeline technology and the next step in this businesses plan is to develop it further and expand into different sectors. This development will involve the company creating innovative pipelines, which will be put to use within the conventional and renewable energy sectors and this plan will be carried out with the expectation of reducing the carbon footprint created by infrastructure. The company plans to do this through the use of conventional energies.

Along with being the lead investor, SENCO has decided that due to their input in the project, which altogether is a total amount of 30m euros, they will be joining Chevron Technology Ventures, Evonik Venture Capital, HydrogenOne Capital, ING Corporate Investments and Shell Ventures.

CEO and Managing Partner of SENCO, Carsten Schmeding, commented, “We identified Strohm in 2023 as a market leader in the development of thermoplastic composite pipelines (TCP), an innovative, sustainable and value-adding contribution to the growing global offshore energy industry.”

CEO of Strohm, Martin van Onna, mentioned, “The partnership with SENCO enables us to further scale our technologies and continue our successful expansion, especially in the field of energy transformation around hydrogen and CCUS.”
