Electrolyser deal for Oman green ammonia project secured by Sungrow
A recent agreement states that Sungrow Hydrogen will provide electrolysis equipment to a green ammonia project in Oman. This equipment will be used to produce hydrogen at this 320MW green ammonia project.
Through a supply agreement with ACME Group, it has been arranged that the Chinese electrolyser manufacturer will provide a variety of sets of 1000Nm3/hr of alkaline equipment. The expectation for this part of the project, is that it will be delivered this year.
It was during last January that ACME made the announcement that they would be delivering a maximum of 100,000 tonnes per year of green ammonia to Yara Clean Ammonia. ACME plans to deliver the green ammonia to this site from its Oman facility.
This excellent new deal between Sungrow and ACME has occurred after a very busy year for the electrolyser OEM. The company began operations with its alkaline electrolysers in September of 2024 and this took place at the Shanxi Yulin Coal Chemical Industry base which is located in China.
ACME said that, ‘the green ammonia project will begin operations in 2026, initially producing up to 300 tonnes per day of the green hydrogen carrier.’
Sungrow’s General Manager, Jason Jin, spoke about wanting, ‘Sungrow to expand further in the European market.’
Jin commented, “The European green hydrogen market is the biggest in the world. But customers there don’t know what we do under our strategy, although I think if we communicate the future the market will be huge for us. We want to participate in this market and understand the requirements of potential customers in Europe.”
