First Three Certification Bodies for CertifHy EU RFNBO Scheme have been recognised

CertifHy has recognised Vinçotte, TÜV SÜD, and TÜV Rheinland to be the first certification bodies to be authorised to operate under the CertifHy EU RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) Voluntary Scheme. This huge breakthrough starts the industry’s progression toward making the widespread certification of sustainable hydrogen and e-fuel production possible.
Gaining a valid CertifHy EU RFNBO Scheme certificate will only be possible if the audit is conducted by these recognised bodies, and it is this certificate that is required for issuing Proofs of Sustainability (POS).
CertifHy’s expert guidance and its strong collaboration with the certification bodies are beneficial to clients also looking to get certified. CertifHy also provides support for the certification journey where companies have access to various organisations expertise around hydrogen value chains, which aids in moving the process along and helps to handle complexities.
Matthieu Boisson, Managing Director at CertifHy, commented, “This is a pivotal moment for the RFNBO sector. The recognition of TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland and Vinçotte signifies the readiness of the market to embrace robust and reliable certification, ensuring the integrity and transparency of sustainable hydrogen production.”
Pierre Krenn, Scheme Manager at CertifHy, added “CertifHy is committed to empowering auditors with the resources and expertise they need to navigate the evolving landscape of hydrogen and e-fuels certification,” added “We work closely with certification bodies to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and ensure audits that are fair, efficient, and provide insightful feedback.”
