)
For over 50 years, STAPPERT has been one of the leading stainless steel distributors in Germany. With a comprehensive range of over 20,000 products and more than 50 grades, the internationally operating company offers customers not only a wide product portfolio but also excellent availability and first-class service. To meet increasing market and customer demands, the product range is continuously expanding.
One of the distributor's latest additions is the special grade XM-19, also known as Nitronic 50©. Since late last year, STAPPERT has been stocking round bars in this grade in diameters from 30 mm to 200 mm, rolled, peeled, (solution-annealed). With this product launch, the company responds to growing demand for high-quality specialty grades suitable for demanding applications.
What makes XM-19 (Nitronic 50©) so special?
This high-strength austenitic stainless steel offers outstanding mechanical properties. It features excellent corrosion resistance and particularly high resistance to abrasion, erosion, and cavitation erosion. These properties make it especially durable and resistant, even under extreme conditions.
Another advantage: XM-19 is non-magnetic and remains versatile even after machining.
As Thomas Keller, general sales manager at STAPPERT Deutschland explains, these exceptional characteristics make XM-19 to a first-class choice for applications requiring high strength and durability.
"XM-19 (Nitronic 50©) is now a permanent part of our stock programme and available in our webshop. This provides our clients with another high-quality material option for specific applications, particularly in areas with demanding material requirements. This expansion strengthens our goal of providing a broad and diverse product range for various requirements," adds Keller.
To ensure all employees develop a thorough understanding of the new material, several internal training sessions have been conducted. Additionally, XM-19 (Nitronic 50©) was showcased at a dedicated booth at the Hydrogen Technology Expo in October 2024. STAPPERT presented the material as an innovative solution for hydrogen industry challenges.
"The introduction of XM-19 has been very well received by our clients and partners, and we've already secured our first orders for the material. This is very encouraging and reinforces our decision to offer this product," explains Martina Stöver, product expert for special grades and head of export business at STAPPERT.
STAPPERT will continue exhibiting at trade fairs in 2025 to showcase the new product, including "Stainless" in Brno (April 2-3) and "Made in Steel" in Milan (May 6-8).
With the introduction of XM-19 (Nitronic 50©), the company expands its portfolio with a grade that will play a significant role in numerous industrial applications, particularly in hydrogen technology. "We are convinced that this step will further strengthen our product range and provides even better service to our clients," summarizes Martina Stöver.
STAPPERT plans to continue expanding its range in the future, specifically addressing customer needs. This aims to make the overall offering as comprehensive and demand-oriented as possible.
